Description:
While every component in the drill string is crucial, the shank adapter must be engineered to withstand the most extreme stress. Its function is to transmit impact energy from the rock-drill piston, as well as rotation torque, into the drill string without energy losses. It must withstand and transmit up to 6300 blows per minute from the piston continually, with great endurance and dependability. With this in mind, we manufacture premium quality shank adapters for most brands of the drill machine.
In top hammer drilling, the shank adapter transmits impact energy from the piston to the rod(s) or tube(s). Additionally, rotation torque is delivered via the shank adapter.
Manufactured from high-quality Alloy Steel and Heat Treated to give high values and fatigue strength.
The task of the shank adapter is to transmit rotation torque, feed force, impact energy and flushing medium to the drill string.
Male shank adapters/striking bar are generally better suited for drifting, tunneling & extension applications where high bending stresses are present.
Female shank adapters/striking bar are used when the drilling space is limited and the total feed length is important (i.e., underground roof bolting).
